Jones Beach Park Information

Jones Beach State Park is a world-class tourist, swimming and surfing destination. Jones Beach State Park offers tourists, swimmers and surfer beautiful sites along its 6.5 miles of beautiful ocean beaches. It features two swimming pools and it boasts one-half mile of bay beach for stillwater bathing.

The west end of the park has provided Long Islanders a wonderful place for surf fishing. Jones Beach State Park has a magnificent boat basin called at Zach’s Bay the park has beautiful and serine undeveloped areas as well where a variety of migratory birds and native plants now call home since¬†environmentalists called for protection and now some parts of Jones Beach State Park has been protected by law forever. The park is also home to the Theodore Roosevelt Nature Center, which includes environmental displays about the seashore, educational tours and programming for all ages. The nature center has aquaria, exhibits and hands-on activities relating to the beach ecosystem.

Jones Beach has a two mile boardwalk and a “Castles in the Sand” photo collection at the East Bathhouse which depicts the development of the Long Island State Park and parkway systems. Additional attractions include deck games, the Jones Beach State Park Pitch and Putt Course, miniature golf and beach volleyball. Jones Beach also hosts the popular Bethpage Federal Credit Union Annual Memorial Day Weekend Air Show.
