Bethpage Air Show at Jones Beach

The 2012 Bethpage Air Show at Jones Beach State Park presented by Newsday will be held Memorial Day Weekend May 26th and May 27th. This year’s lineup will include the United States Navy Blue Angels and the Canadian Forces Snowbirds, as well as some of the best military and civilian aerobatic performers performing today.

You can watch the United States Air Force F-22 Raptor and the A-10 Thunderbolt II soaring through the skies over Long Island as well as other high-flying entertainment. The show starts both days at 10 a.m. and finishes at 3 p.m.

Make sure to get there VERY early and expect traffic going there. You’ll want to get a good spot near the show center, right over the Atlantic Ocean, just in front of the Jones Beach Water Tower.

Bring your radio to the beach because there will be a live play-by-play of the air show on WHLI 1100 AM on your dial. And it’s strongly recommended that you bring earplugs for yourself and especially for children because those jets make a lot of noise as they zoom through the skies.

Bring sunglasses, beach towels and chairs and wear your usual beach attire, but be prepared for cool weather… just in case.

Admission is FREE, but there is a standard parking fee of $10 per vehicle upon entry into Jones Beach State Park.

Corporate hospitality suites and VIP tickets are available for purchase.

Handicapped parking is also available in each general parking lot by the boardwalk entrances. There’s full access to the boardwalk, rest rooms and food and beverage stands as well.
